 Where am I?

[Home] [USC2577 etc.]

The content on this page is not finalised and is open to revision

Many adult websites have a “USC2257 statement” and lots of stuff about the “Custodian of Records” etc..

That’s all to do with American legislation that requires the owners of adult websites to maintain very detailed records of models, images, etc. and to have them available for inspection on demand. Failure to comply with with the complex and demanding rules could lead to very severe penalties - and the closure of the site would be one of the lesser consequences.

One might be forgiven for thinking that the real reason behind the USC2257 legislation is a desire to drive adult sites out of business...

By very deliberate design (and a good deal of trouble!) the Convolvulus websites are totally, completely, 100% Europe-based. We have no American-based business links at all. Therefore, USC2257 does not apply to us in any way. That’s why we have no USC2257 statement on any of our sites.

Nevertheless, all our models are 18 or older at the time of their shoots, and we have declarations and documentary evidence of that on file.

There have been recent changes in UK law concerning possession of “extreme and violent” images. Nothing on Convolvulus comes anywhere close to the definitions of “extreme and violent” in the legislation and therefore we are confident that viewing and downloading Convolvulus material carries no risk of running into problems with the law.
